OPTIONAL MODULE: Responding to Risk: Community Service Linkage for Suicidal Youth for Partnering Behavioral Health Agencies – Unit 1

In this optional module, we will discuss risks for suicidal behavior in youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system. We will also talk about consistent ways to identify those young persons, using the e-Connect system. This training series will provide information on identifying youth at risk for suicide, and on the ways your county has decided that they should be best linked to appropriate care. In this Unit, trainees will be able to recognize key factors leading to adolescent suicide and behavior, discuss ways to prevent adolescent suicide, and understand their role in suicide prevention using the e-Connect system. As a reminder, this unit is optional.
